Accreditation review duration varies by scope, evidence readiness, findings and applicant response time. CHSPS therefore publishes planning windows and stage-specific service targets rather than presenting an unsupported single average.
What a planning target is
The timelines published on this site — roughly 4–9 months for certification programs, 3–6 months for education providers, and 6–12 weeks for courses — are planning targets based on the published process stages, reviewer-assignment targets and committee calendar. They are not presented as measured historical averages. CHSPS will publish empirical cycle-time distributions after a sufficient set of completed cases supports reliable reporting.
How service performance is reported
CHSPS service-performance reporting separates CHSPS-controlled time (completeness checks, review assignment, committee scheduling and decision issuance) from applicant-controlled time (evidence preparation and response to findings). This split makes service reporting meaningful because it shows which part of the clock each side owns.
Consistent reporting principles
The same reporting principle applies across CHSPS public information: accreditation records, education offerings and funding disclosures are presented according to their governing source, scope and current status.
