Sponsorship at CHSPS

CHSPS accepts carefully screened sponsorship for education, public-interest resources, research and convenings. Sponsorship can provide factual acknowledgment, but it never purchases endorsement, standards influence, confidential accreditation access, applicant advantage or decision authority.

Qualified acknowledgment / benefit

Sponsorship terms and acknowledgment are published with the applicable event prospectus. No sponsorship buys a standards vote, technical-panel seat, interpretation or public-comment outcome.

Current status

Register interest for the applicable event prospectus.

Rates vs. final agreement. The published rate identifies the current sponsorship opportunity. The executed agreement controls the exact supported activity, term, acknowledgment wording, benefits, restrictions and any event-specific availability.

Tax treatment: CHSPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, but sponsorship consideration may include benefits. CHSPS does not provide tax advice about a sponsor's treatment of a particular payment.

What recognition means

Sponsorship provides acknowledgment, not endorsement or advertising rights.

CHSPS-DEV-600 limits sponsor recognition to approved factual acknowledgment appropriate to the supported activity. Anything beyond that is outside the standard sponsorship acknowledgment model and requires separate review and contracting.

What may be included

  • sponsor name and logo where the agreement permits;
  • an approved factual one-line description;
  • program-page, registration, live-introduction or replay acknowledgment where included in the opportunity;
  • factual impact reporting when stated in the written agreement.

What is not included

  • no product endorsement or “CHSPS approved” claim;
  • no editorial control over standards, measures or accreditation content;
  • no attendee personal data or applicant lists;
  • no accreditation seal or status rights because of sponsorship.

Use only approved wording

Supporters may describe support factually only in wording approved under CHSPS-DEV-600. A sponsorship relationship may not be reframed as accreditation, preferred status, partnership in accreditation or product approval.

Accreditation firewall

Support never enters the accreditation decision path.

CHSPS separates the people, information and records used for sponsorship from eligibility, technical review, standards decisions, appeals and accreditation outcomes.

Case files

Sponsor status stays out

Sponsor or funder status does not appear in eligibility, review, validation, reconsideration, appeal or decision files.

Personnel

Relationship firewall

Personnel who negotiate or manage support have no accreditation-relevant role concerning that supporter, and vice versa, for the relationship plus 24 months.

Information

No confidential access

Support does not provide confidential accreditation information, applicant lists, attendee personal data or advance nonpublic standards content.

Standards

No purchased influence

Funding cannot buy a standards vote, measure, interpretation, finding, public-comment outcome or applicant timeline.

Decisions

No favorable treatment

Applicant or accredited organizations may sponsor, but support provides no scheduling, review or accreditation-decision consideration.

Public disclosure

Activity acknowledgment and annual disclosure are related, but they are not the same rule.

A sponsor may be publicly acknowledged on the supported activity under the written agreement. Separately, CHSPS-DEV-600 defines when annual supporter disclosure is required. The public Funding Disclosures page summarizes the governance and independence controls applied to external funding.

$5,000+ aggregate support

A supporter whose aggregate support reaches $5,000 or more in a reporting year is included in the annual supporters listing with the category of support.

Applicant / candidate / accredited organization

Support from an organization that is an applicant, candidate or accredited organization is disclosed in the annual listing regardless of amount.

Below the annual threshold

Do not infer anonymity. Program-level sponsorship acknowledgment may still be public under the sponsorship agreement even when the annual supporter-listing threshold is not triggered.

Funding governance record: use Funding Disclosures to review the public funding-governance and independence framework. CHSPS-DEV-600 remains the controlling source for annual disclosure requirements.
How agreement works

An inquiry starts screening; it does not reserve influence or create a benefit.

1

Submit an inquiry

Identify the opportunity and what your organization wants to support.

2

Mission & conflict screen

CHSPS reviews mission fit, structural conflicts, availability and any policy exclusions before agreement.

3

Written agreement

The agreement states the rate, supported activity, term, approved acknowledgment, deliverables and restrictions.

4

Delivery & disclosure

CHSPS delivers the agreed acknowledgment and applies the public-disclosure rules required by CHSPS-DEV-600.

Target initial response: within two business days. This is a general development-inquiry target, not a guarantee of sponsorship acceptance, agreement execution, event availability or any accreditation-related timeline.
Sponsorship inquiry

Tell CHSPS what you want to support.

Use this form for the published opportunities above or to ask which sponsorship structure fits. No commitment exists until the applicable screening is complete and both sides sign the written agreement.

For grants or gifts instead: use Grants & Institutional Funding. For year-round membership benefits, use Membership. Those relationships are governed separately even though the same impartiality firewall applies.

Fields marked asterisk are required.

Choose the correct relationship

Membership, sponsorship and grants solve different needs.

Membership

An annual membership relationship with published member benefits. Membership is not sponsorship and does not create accreditation preference or decision influence.

Membership →

Sponsorship

Support tied to a program, activity, series or fund with qualified acknowledgment defined in a written agreement and controlled by CHSPS-DEV-600.

Grants & institutional funding

General or restricted mission funding with reporting and restriction terms appropriate to the grant or gift. Funding never purchases accreditation or standards influence.

Support the mission without crossing the firewall

Start with the opportunity, then let the written agreement and controlled policy govern.
