Standards Revision & Public Comment
The standards are living documents. Every comment is logged with a public comment ID, reviewed by the Standards Council on a scheduled cycle, and answered in a published disposition report with each revision.
How the comment process works
- Submit. Use the structured form to propose a revision to any clause of the published standards. CHSPS logs the submission and assigns a controlled public-comment reference.
- Acknowledge. You receive a comment ID (format: PC-2026-0000) confirming receipt into the comment log.
- Review. The Standards Council reviews every submitted comment — commenter identity is not a factor.
- Disposition. With each revision cycle, CHSPS publishes a disposition report listing each comment, the Council’s decision (accepted, accepted in part, or not accepted) and the rationale or resulting revision. The next scheduled controlled revision cycle begins in 2027; any approved revision uses the Edition 2027.1 convention and is published with a change log and transition notice.
Read the complete published Edition 2026.1 documents: CORE-100 · CERT-200 · EDP-300 · COURSE-400 (PDF), or read them on the standards page.
What makes a comment effective: cite the clause ID, describe the practical problem, and propose replacement wording. “CERT 9.1 should also require X because Y” is far more actionable than general praise or concern.
Publication rule. CHSPS includes substantive comments in its internal standards-development record. Comments authorized for publication may be reproduced in the public disposition report; comments not authorized are summarized or anonymized under CHSPS policy.
Disposition report format

Every substantive comment should be traceable from receipt to disposition
These targets define the expected responsiveness and completeness of the CHSPS public-comment process.
