Available now. CHSPS-ALT-320 edition 2026.1 is effective August 19, 2026. Eligibility, scope review and applications are open. Payment, application or evidence submission does not create recognition; only an independent CHSPS decision and current verification records do so.

What CHSPS evaluates
In scope
Accuracy oversight, assessment-boundary controls, disclosure, human escalation, learner-data privacy, safety guardrails, accessibility, change control, monitoring and vendor due diligence.
Outside this scope
A general AI governance system or certification of an external platform unless separately reviewed under ALT platform certification.
ALT-720 Certified System
For LMS assistants, AI tutors and learning-content or feedback engines sold to providers.

Common questions
We use a third-party AI tutor. Who applies?
The education provider may obtain the ALT-320 supplement for its implementation. The technology vendor may separately pursue ALT-720 Certified System status. A certified platform can simplify, but does not replace, the provider's implementation evidence.
Does ALT approve every answer the AI tutor gives?
No. ALT evaluates the assurance system: grounding and accuracy controls, monitoring, correction, disclosure, escalation and change management.
What is the assessment boundary?
The provider or platform must demonstrate controls that prevent learner-support AI from improperly completing or exposing assessed work used to make a credentialing or completion decision.
