Nonprofit accountability · public record

Accountability should be inspectable, not implied.

CHSPS asks accredited organizations to document their claims, controls and decisions. The same principle applies here: legal identity, financial safeguards, reporting routes, quality controls and accreditation outcomes each have a public path that can be inspected.

Start with the record you want to inspect.

These links separate organizational identity, governance, money, external support, accreditation actions and public verification so one page does not have to stand in for the underlying record.

Fees & Refund Policy

Accreditation fees are published in the controlled fee schedule. Payment enables processing and does not purchase or predict an accreditation outcome.

External support

Funding Disclosures

External sponsorship, grant and other support disclosures are published separately from accreditation decision records.

Public Accreditation Actions

Adverse and administrative accreditation outcomes are published in the public actions register so the record can be inspected outside a private case file.

Claim verification

Verify Accreditation

Every CHSPS accreditation claim should be checked against the public verification record rather than accepted from a logo or marketing statement alone.

Financial independence

Money and accreditation decisions stay in different lanes.

The published separation is structural: reviewers and the Accreditation Decision Committee do not receive billing, education-purchase, membership or sponsorship records as part of the accreditation decision file.

Payment enables processing. It never determines status.

Fees are published, collected for the work they fund and governed by the Refund Policy. A payment does not buy a grant, renewal, expansion or favorable finding.

01

Commercial record

Billing, education-purchase, membership and sponsorship information remains outside the technical accreditation record.

02

Technical review

Reviewers evaluate evidence against published standards rather than the applicant's commercial relationship with CHSPS.

03

Decision authority

The Accreditation Decision Committee acts on the accreditation record, not payment or purchase history.

04

Public check

Published fees, funding disclosures, public actions and verification provide independent inspection points outside the case.

Institutional accountability

Legal identity and governance records are public-facing accountability tools.

CHSPS is the Commission for Health, Safety & Professional Standards, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit standards and accreditation organization. Its legal identity is documented on Organization Facts, while governance authority, conflict controls and decision-body boundaries are documented separately.

Controlled policies, governance seat structure, funding disclosures and quality reporting provide additional inspection points so institutional accountability does not depend on a single summary page.

Conduct, reporting & records

A concern about CHSPS itself has a reporting route.

Personnel, reviewers and committee members operate under the published Code of Conduct. The accountability framework includes protected reporting and non-retaliation, while confidentiality and records handling are governed separately.

Protected reporting

Raise a concern without using the accreditation sales channel.

Staff, reviewers, applicant personnel and members of the public may raise concerns about CHSPS through the complaint process or Contact CHSPS.

Confidentiality & records handling

Confidentiality and records handling are controlled separately so public accountability does not mean uncontrolled disclosure of protected case information.

Quality & challenge

Accountability continues after a decision is issued.

CHSPS publishes the framework used for operating quality reporting, provides a formal challenge route for eligible adverse decisions, and maintains public records that let outside users check accreditation claims.

1

Quality framework published

Controlled service criteria, governance measures and publication rules are defined before operating results are reported.

2
